- The payback scene plays out differently onscreen. To wit:
- The boys are disturbed by the windows opening and closing rather than Rudolph's and Tony's voices.
- It takes them a while to catch on to the identity of their mysterious midnight visitor.
- Rudolph gives them a more elaborate speech and a greater show of his powers (he, without the aid of his hands, makes a pair of wings sprout from behind his ears, rather than pulling on his ears to produce the wings).
- If the boys wet themselves, they don't notice.
- The flight home was cut.
- Robert's slide presentation is manual.
- Lord McAshton does not express a wish to have Rookery's head in the final cut (for good reasons, I'm sure).
- There's no memo recorder, nor is there Dottie's insistence on the family talking together, though she is clearly bothered by the fact that Bob couldn't give a damn less about all the hard work she put into afternoon tea.
